A character who I really like and one I would consider waifu material — a brief exposition on said character.
The Idolm@ster is a simulation series that first started as an arcade game and it functioned like a horse raising simulator. Except you know, instead of a steed it was a group of prospective idols.
Project Im@s released a side series known as Cinderella Girls, and this series is where the character I will be spotlighting today is from. She is Uzuki Shimamura, and she is often seen as the face of this series.
A girl who is exceptionally unexceptional, she has many qualities that I find valuable, and just appealing in general. She does not see herself as anyone special, but she works hard and always stays positive. Her catch phrase “Ganbarimasu!” (I’ll do my best!) is deeply rooted into her character — someone who works hard despite having average expectations of yourself.
Cinderella Girls aired an anime adaptation and one of Uzuki’s struggles was that she was losing confidence in herself, thinking that she was more or less a nobody with nothing to offer. Even though this was what she thought was her reality, she kept on pushing through no matter what, and this is what drew people to her. She was never someone who drew in people because of her quirks, but because of her actions and attitude. The ability to step back and realize that people value you for what you do IS what makes you who you are, and it’s a message that resonated with me ever since I saw her struggle.
Also, she’s adorable.
