This happened I want to say maybe seven or eight years ago so of course I’ll add a little bit of extra fluff for dramatic effect.

I remember the days before Covid where Walmart was open forever, and multiple places had overnight drive thru windows operating. I was still working at my previous factory where I thought to myself “Man, I could really use some McDonalds right now.” This was around 2am and I decided to go to the one closest to me. Upon reaching the speaker, I was told that they were accepting cash only and I only had my card. I don’t carry cash on me because I’ll end up leaving it everywhere and never using it. The money trail, if you so please. 

I didn’t let that stop me, because I was determined to get my food one way or another, so I drove a few minutes to another McDonalds. Same story. Card only. Third McDonalds. Yet again the same story. This has turned into a grand quest for the McDonalds, but then I just went forget it and got Whataburger. Do all the chains have a central system or something where if one goes down, they all go down? That’s screwy.
