A very good friend of mine once told me that there’s a fine line where a game can be fun, but then past that point, it feels like a job, and that’s something I both agree and disagree with. I believe it all just comes down to mood and drive (and a combination of both at the same time.) When you’re feeling frustrated that you’re not improving, or “plateaued” at a certain skill level, you start having different thought processes and it often ends up feeling like a job. I find it’s great to take a break and essentially let yourself get rusty, because when you go back and try to get back to where you were originally, you’ll pick up things you didn’t know before, and that is usually what pushes you past your previous plateau.
Of course, you’ll hit another one and repeat again, but sucks to suck. Fuck it.
