A funny memory that I have with regards to drinking water has to do with that one game Prince of Persia Sands of Time. In that game, as long as you can find a water source and drink from it, you will never die from things that won’t outright one shot you because water restores your health. Where the funny memory comes in is that I remember there was this room with a jump that I would keep messing up but when you would fall, you would land on a little collection of water and you could actually drink from it so as long as you remember to drink, you would never die. It ended up being a repeat of falling into the water and drinking it just to keep doing it over and over again, and someone straight up said “drink that nasty ass water you’re standing in” and it got me really bad. I still remember that time to this day.
