I’m a month late but I got to see this in theaters with a group of friends and I enjoyed what I watched of it. To put it simply, it’s an easily approachable movie, and by that I mean you don’t have to know anything about the series (like watch the show or read the manga) to know what is happening in the film. It’s pretty much a contained story and it also has a good recap or rather introduction to the characters to those who don’t already know who they are. The pacing was very nice, and the visuals were easy on the eyes — I really enjoy when more eastern countries are shown in anime under the Japanese tint. Also, I was able to get a print, a cup (for drinks,) and a popcorn bucket in commemoration for the film releasing. I was surprised that there was an entire week’s worth of showings happening for both subbed and dubbed because usually anime movies that aren’t Ghibli or the popular shonen of the time only get showings for maybe three days at most. All in all, a good movie and is something most people can enjoy.
