In a specific friend group that I am in, we watched Idolmaster Cinderella Girls and we all took a liking to Ranko because of her perky attitude and general dorkiness she has going for her. It’s a good combination of being cute and cool at the same time and I think that is something that is a very hard thing to balance even in real life. With that said, the amount of merchandise she has is surprisingly a bit higher than other girls from her series. I guess her popularity is deserved since I believe international audiences like her as well. She’s very cute when paired with Minami or Anya, and she compliments both of them very well with her image color and her general personality. I suppose you could call it quirkiness done right since it is shown she knows it’s just her playing a character.
