So the thing I had obtained in my day 2 of recovery post was the complete series of Golden Boy. Six episodes on two DVDs, talk about classic and old school. This series has always been special to me just for the sheer comedy it has along with having a very fantastic English dub as well. It’s just a show I can watch over and over and not get bored of it because every episode, even though there are only six of them, maintain a high quality that makes each of them good to watch on their own. It even has a special moment in the final episode that makes the entire thing come full circle, and I would argue it makes the anime itself superior to the manga, which I hear goes off a cliff and goes insanely fucked the more it goes on. I also just enjoy the character of Kintaro because he’s very inspirational when you look past the bumbling antics he always get himself into, and it probably shaped part of how I act to this day without me realizing — that’s fucking cool as fuck.
