Arcade Culture (& Why I Hate Dance Gamers)

I spend a lot of my time nowadays going over to a nearby barcade. This specific one drew me in because it’s a combination of pinball and REAL arcade games. I say that because it has very few normie games that you would find at Dave & Busters — none of these oversized phone games or stripped down ports of actual games. The best part is that it has a bunch of newer Japanese games with some real classics like Crazy Taxi. It’s not at the level of Round1 but let’s be real: Round1 for as great as it is, … Continue reading Arcade Culture (& Why I Hate Dance Gamers)

Tired – Written Through Phone

I’m actually using voice to text at the moment because I am so exhausted. it’s really interesting to see how these kinds of things have progressed because many years ago this would not be able to be accurate at all. It also has the bonus of literally being rambling which is something I’m good at. Anyway, he looks like my shower head is starting to leak. From what I understand, there is a little rubber or plastic ring inside that connects the hose to the actual shower head and this is known as an o-ring. If it becomes loose the … Continue reading Tired – Written Through Phone

Typing Quirks

I Feel Like The Internet Becoming More Widespread And Accessible Has Deteriorated Grammar, Spelling, And General Sentence Cohesiveness. im someone who most of the time doesnt care about either grammar or spelling, because i like to believe people will be able to understand what im saying. also im super lazy but the one thing i will always be sure to type properly is the contraction of it is. none of this it’s/its mixing up. Maybe typing quirks are just inherently flawed because they play with the psychology of how you read anything.Likeyou knowwhen peopleexpect a sentencebutit feels wrong. Your brain … Continue reading Typing Quirks

Sending Cookie Tins

It’s already past the holiday season but I’ve recently sent a few tins out to some very good people I know. What separates these tins from other gifts is that they have a certain authenticity to them that’s extremely special and shows that you care for the people you’re sending them to. The hardest part for me was actually finding some tins to begin with, and I ended up buying these butter cookie tins from Walmart. The worst part about them was that they were not what I expected them to be. I always knew that these tins were set … Continue reading Sending Cookie Tins

Price of Video Games

I went to preorder Fire Emblem Engage from GameStop and I noticed that I paid $70 for it. Well more like higher 60s but either way, I got the protection plan because why not. I’m one of those Pro members who gets a $5 coupon monthly, and I decided to use it on the protection plan itself. I saved $1, so that would mean that the game itself is selling for $70 and that makes no sense to me. Unless I’m mistaken, the game itself is $60. https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/nintendo-switch/products/fire-emblem-engage—nintendo-switch/351975.html So again, with the protection plan and the coupon from being a … Continue reading Price of Video Games

Anime Culture

I’m not one who goes to theaters that often. Off the top of my head last year, the only movies I went to see were Jackass Forever and Sonic 2. I’m not too into western superhero stuff so I always felt apathetic towards going to theaters unless it’s with friends. With that said, I’ve felt the same way with anime movies in theaters as well. I have this thing where I don’t really care too much about “normie” anime, and by that I mean the popular shonen shows of the moment or Ghibli films. I don’t necessarily dislike these, because … Continue reading Anime Culture

Mushrooms

I grew up playing Mario games so I thought it would be funny to eat mushrooms so I would be just like Mario. Turns out I didn’t really enjoy the method my parents prepared mushrooms — barely cooking them. In this process, the mushrooms still have a bit of a chew to them, and there’s really no taste to them. My parents circumvented this by frying them with some oyster sauce or anything similar. It wasn’t until I started cooking them myself where I really understood the flavors they could bring. Going from just the taste of normal white button … Continue reading Mushrooms

Holiday (Observed)

Decided to do some adult things and a majority of the places I required to venture to were all closed, because they were celebrating New Year’s Day (Observed.) I don’t think it’s strange that this is a thing, since I suppose Sundays are the holy day and breaking that for any reason is sacrilege. Maybe I can apply this to my own life by going “Aaron’s Birthday (Observed.)” No wait, people already do that by having their parties a few days before or after their actual birthday. How about “Work (Observed)?” No work on Sunday, only going on Monday. Let’s … Continue reading Holiday (Observed)

My Crazy Taxi History

Summer of 2021 was when the arcade near me obtained a stand up version of Crazy Taxi, and it was one of the games where I thought it would be fun to get good at. I decided to learn a lot of the more intricate techniques needed to perform well, and looking back, I was playing pretty inadequately at the time. I obtained the Crazy License, which is a threshold of $20,000. This was August of 2021, and I knew I had higher standards to obtain with regards to my scoring. In due time, some promising prospective players would rise … Continue reading My Crazy Taxi History
