Grill

I decided to get back on the grill because it is actually not raining so I had the free time to actually give it a whirl again. It’s also considered a miracle that the grill that I used still had some propane left inside so I was able to grill in my own comfortable pace and in peace. I tried to do the technique of putting a combination of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce on the burgers and let it somewhat marinate for a little bit of time so it can infuse a little bit of salty and savory flavor … Continue reading Grill

Steak & Eggs

A ribeye with three sunny side eggs, I’m giving the “Steak & Eggs” diet a try because I got a few shirts that came in and while they fit in the very broad sense of the term, they feel very tight in that my belly area is visible and I don’t like that. With that said, I’m giving a cut diet a try since I can’t really find the proper time management skills as of yet to incorporate exercise so I’m just going with the next best thing of just limiting the amount of calories I’m consuming. Anywho, the steak … Continue reading Steak & Eggs

Morning Glory

When I was in San Diego I went to this breakfast restaurant called Morning Glory in Little Italy, and I really enjoyed what I had there. The one thing that really got me was that there is a long wait in a line to get to the place, and that line was just to get on the waiting list. A line for another line just to get inside. We were quoted about two and a half hours wait and we decided to have some fun and walk around the area and one thing I will say is that I really … Continue reading Morning Glory

Phil’s BBQ

When I was at the San Diego airport, I saw this restaurant called Phil’s BBQ and I decided to give it a shot. The place specializes mostly on sandwiches but does offer some small plates of barbecue but since the sandwiches seemed good based on their description, I went with the Philbuster or whatever it was called. It was a double cheeseburger with some pulled pork barbecue and an entire onion ring (that was large, I may add,) all sandwich would in a bun and honestly I had to pull it apart if I even thought about eating it because … Continue reading Phil’s BBQ

Dipping Noodles

Tried some dipping ramen at a place today and it was my first time trying the thing to begin with. So it’s cold noodles with a hot broth. They give you less broth than normal because said broth is super concentrated and not suitable for straight up drinking. The one thing that did get me is just how strong the entire thing was. It felt like there was this extreme smell that reminded me of fish sauce or bonito flakes and it smelled off to me. It didn’t stop me from eating, though, cause the noodles being relatively bland was … Continue reading Dipping Noodles

Hazelnut Filled Cookie

For my friend’s dad’s birthday party (which happened a week ago, good thing I remembered something that happened so long before,) I tried making a cookie pizza, a pizookie or whatever the fuck that portmanteau is called, and stuffing it with Nutella. Sorry, hazelnut spread because I used the generic brand and not the Nutella (trademark symbol or R in a circle symbol) named brand. The cookies itself weren’t anything special, I just bought some cookie dough that came in that little plastic wrap thing that looks like what you would get sausage or ground beef in, and I’ll be … Continue reading Hazelnut Filled Cookie

Chicken Wings

Oh right, gallery view is a thing. Anywho, I decided to fry some frozen chicken wings I got from a sale at a store that was doing a two for one special on a bag of frozen chicken wings. I prepped by just leaving them in the fridge for two days so they wouldn’t be frozen, then I started getting the vessel ready — a big pot. I had some shortening that I used and seeing that small can of solid stuff expand into a decent amount of liquid to fry is an interesting sight. I do wish I had … Continue reading Chicken Wings

Meatloaf

Jist your basic no frills meatloaf. Making this thing has been very educational for me because I have been able to break out multiple Tuesdays that I don’t get to use often. I was able to use a food processor to grate some onions and carrots to add a lot of size to the thing. Basically it was filled good mushrooms, onions, carrots, and garlic. The meat was a combination of lean beef and lean pork and it helped immensely by not allowing it to leak so much fucking juice everywhere. The glaze was pretty tasty as well, with a … Continue reading Meatloaf

Cook Steak

Got around to using the cast iron again and went with a porterhouse. I’m not gonna comment on how prices are fucked to shit and how one thing was worth ten goddamn dollars, but I’ll just segue into what I really want to talk about it — the technique. So I used to pour the oil into the pan and heat it up, but when I would put the steak in the shit would start bubbling and splattering everywhere and I detested that annoying bullshit. I ended up oiling the actual steak and leaving the pan naked, and that turned … Continue reading Cook Steak
